Lite Series Features

We understand the challenges of maintaining consistent bale quality. Our Lite Series offers solutions to streamline your baling process.

BestBale Pro Series Display

The 4.3″ rugged display presents real-time data immediately to the operator. This includes field count, flake count, and plunger speed, plus bale weight and moisture (both add-on options), helping you maintain a consistent product for your customers. The display sports supreme visibility in all lighting conditions, day and night, at various angles. It is rugged and weatherproof.

BestBale Pro Series Display
The Lite Series kit uses plunger speed to calculate flake count. This tends to create inflated flake counts when transitioning to a new windrow. Adding the flake sensor will improve that reading and only add flakes when hay is pressed into the bale.
BestBale Pro Series Display
Bale counts help keep track of yields and operator productivity. Eliminate manual paperwork processes and get reliable and accurate yield tracking.

Moisture Pads

Moisture Pads – Moisture pad readings are taken from the outside edges of the bale displayed on our screen. This is a cost-effective way to measure moisture in the bale.

Gazeeka

Gazeeka (required for people who run a Staheli West Steamer along with their baler) – This software instantaneously shows, average, and peak readings on the screen. This method is known for its exceptional accuracy and reliability and is widely regarded as the best in the business.

BestBale™ is an authorized dealer of the Gazeeka 180i and can ship it together with the BestBale™ kit.

Flat Scales

Our F500 flat drop scales are built for those typically using a bundler and dropping bales with the strings up. We offer two sizes, the F500-1418 for 14″ x 18″ bales from 29-38″ long, and the F500-1622 for 15″ x 21″ and 16″ x 22″ bales 34-42″ long. These scales feature our patented shock absorber design, industry leading software and technology, and robust hardware to withstand harsh operating conditions. We use stainless steel on all wear parts, ensuring your BestBale kit looks better and better the longer you use it. We’ve found these scales to provide +/- 2 lb accuracy on 85% of bale weights!

Quarter Turn

Our Q500 quarter turn scales are built for those typically using a harrow bed and dropping bales with the strings on the side. We offer two sizes, the Q500-1418 for 14″ x 18″ bales up to 50″ long, and the Q500-1622 for 15″ x 21″ and 16″ x 22″ bales 50″ long. You are able to remove the kicker arm and drop bales flat with these as well as long as the bales are greater than ~46″ long.

Bundler

The T500 scale is designed for Bale Baron and Bale Bandit applications, this scale kit works well on T model bundlers running in the field as well as for rebale setups. This uses the same technology as our F500 and Q500 scales. Simply bolt the framework down on the bundler (6 holes will need drilled in your bundler), and go to work using our world class scale system!

The Lite Series kit uses plunger speed to calculate flake count. This tends to create inflated flake counts when transitioning to a new windrow. Adding the flake sensor will improve that reading and only add flakes when hay is pressed into the bale.

Bale counts help keep track of yields and operator productivity. Eliminate manual paperwork processes and get reliable and accurate yield tracking.

Moisture sensors (Delmhorst pads only) can be added to our Lite Series kit to maintain a consistent, high-quality product. Readings are conveniently displayed on the screen to help prevent mold, spoilage, or nutrient loss.

Our BestBale™ Lite Series also has an optional scale kit with flat drop, quarter turn, and T Model Bundler configurations. Ensuring accurate bale weights can save producers significant money by preventing overly heavy bales, which is especially important when selling hay by the bale rather than by weight.

Light Series Frequently Asked Questions

What is a flake count sensor?

The basic Lite Series kit uses the stroke counter to calculate a "flake" count. This tends to create inflated flake counts when transitioning to a new windrow. The optional flake counter works off the hay dog and will improve that reading by only counting flakes when hay is pressed into the bale.

How long should a small square bale be?

A common length for a small square bale is 32-48 inches, but farmers often adjust it based on their preferences and machinery. If you use a bundling machine, bales are usually closer to 32-34". If using a harrow bed, bales will be slightly longer at 44-48". Generally, consistent stroke and flake counts maintain uniform bale structure and easier handling.

How can a small baler stroke counter improve my baling efficiency?

A small baler stroke counter, like the BestBale™ Lite Series, improves baling efficiency by providing real-time data on stroke count/plunger speed and flake count. This allows you to maintain consistent bale length and weight for enhanced productivity. By monitoring strokes or flakes per bale, you can adjust rpm and ground speed for ideal bale density and uniformity.

How long does it take to install the BestBale Lite Series?

Installing the BestBale™ Lite Series is straightforward. While installation time varies depending on your baler model and familiarity, most users complete it in a few hours. BestBale™ provides clear instructions and support for a smooth setup process.

What is the cost of the BestBale Lite Series kit?

The cost varies based on your specific needs and chosen features. BestBale™ offers customizable kits tailored to your baling requirements. For an accurate quote, contact BestBale™ directly at 208-993-1959 or info@bestbaleusa.com.
